Flu and COVID-19 online booking service: Your appointments are just a few clicks away

The countdown to the festive season has begun and we are encouraging as many people as possible from our eligible populations to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and flu before online booking closes on 19 December. Now is the time to look for an appointment local to you and at a convenient time. It’s just a few clicks away.

This important message comes at a time when there is also concern about rising cases of respiratory cyclical virus (RSV) and norovirus in what is being described as a quad-demic. Vaccination rates for COVID-19 and flu in London are below the national average for most eligible groups so it’s very important that we protect the most vulnerable such as the over 65s and those with a long term health condition.

Speaking about the 2024 autumn/winter COVID-19 and flu campaign Dr Sonali Kinra, Deputy Medical Director for North Central London Integrated Care Board said, “We are keen for those eligible for the free flu and COVID-19 vaccines to get protected now and take advantage of the national booking service before it closes on 19 December. Festive season is about spending time with friends and family. It is particularly important for those who are at increased risk of serious illness from flu and COVID-19 to have the vaccines. You can contact your GP practice to check if you are eligible if you are not sure.”

The COVID-19 vaccine will remain available until the end of January 2025 and the flu vaccine until the end of March 2025 so there is still time to get that vital protection if you miss the 19 December deadline. To find out more about who is eligible go to www.nclhealthandcare.org.uk and search ‘increased risk’.
