Getting urgent mental health support and advice

We know that Christmas and the winter months can be difficult if you are struggling with your mental health, but you don’t have to cope on your own. Support is available 24/7 to help you.

If you are concerned about your mental health, or someone you care for, including a child or young person, you can contact your free local NHS urgent mental health helpline.

Mental health professionals are available to offer free advice and support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days of the year. They can provide immediate support or refer you to other sources of help if needed.

  • If you are a child or young person aged under 18 living in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington and need urgent mental health support, or if you are the parent or carer of a child or young person who needs urgent mental health support, call 0800 151 0023.
  • If you are a Barnet, Enfield or Haringey resident aged 18+ call 0800 151 0023.
  • If you are a Camden or Islington resident call 0800 917 3333.

In an emergency: If someone’s life is at risk, for example they have seriously injured themselves or taken an overdose, or you do not feel you can keep yourself or someone else safe – call 999 or go to A&E immediately.
