If not treated, high blood pressure (hypertension) can increase the risk of developing serious health problems like heart attacks and strokes – two of the world’s biggest killers. Having a blood pressure test is the only way for people to find out what their blood pressure is – and it could save their life.
Anyone who would prefer to can always still see their GP for a blood pressure check, and pharmacists will refer patients back to their GP following any blood pressure check that needs further investigation.
