Patient Choice

At NHS North Central London ICB, we are committed to ensuring that patients have the right to choose their healthcare provider. This commitment is in line with the NHS Constitution and the latest NHS patient choice guidance.

What is Patient Choice?

Patient choice means that you have the right to make decisions about your healthcare. This includes choosing your GP, hospital, or specialist for your treatment. Our goal is to provide you with the information and support you need to make informed decisions about your care.

How Does It Work?

When you are referred for consultant-led treatment or mental health services, you can choose from a range of providers. This choice is available for both outpatient and inpatient services. You can discuss your options with your GP or healthcare professional, who will provide you with the necessary information to help you decide.

Accreditation for Providers

To ensure high-quality care, we have a rigorous accreditation process for providers. This process ensures that all providers meet our standards and are capable of delivering the services you need. You can find more information about our accreditation process by contacting our Accreditation Team at nclicb.accreditation@nhs.net.
