Your high street pharmacist offers on the spot, expert advice on a range of illnesses and can give advice about how to use medicines and any questions you may have.
Your high street pharmacist can prescribe medicines for the following conditions, without you needing to see a GP or make an appointment: impetigo (skin infection), infected insect bites, earache, sore throat, sinusitis, urinary tract infections, and shingles. This is called Pharmacy First.

Help from NHS 111
If you’re worried about a symptom and not sure what help you need, visit 111.nhs.uk or call 111.
NHS 111 will direct you to the best place to get the care you need from your local health team.

You can book an evening or weekend appointment at a GP hub in Enfield by:
- contacting your GP practice as usual during opening hours
- outside of your GP practice opening hours contact NHS 111
Urgent Treatment Centre
The Urgent Treatment Centre at Chase Farm Hospital is here to help with urgent, but non-life threatening, injuries or illnesses. This includes sprains and strains, suspected broken bones, injuries, cuts and bruises, stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhoea, skin infections and rashes, and high temperatures.
You don’t need to have an appointment.
The centre is open from 8am to 10pm, seven days a week (last patient booked 9pm).
