Emergency Departments across London are under significant pressure, with a high number of flu cases, particularly among children and young people.
Dr Josephine Sauvage, a local GP and Medical Director for North Central London Integrated Care Board, said:
“It’s not too late to get vaccinated for flu. We are seeing huge increases in cases of flu locally.
“Sadly, some of these are very serious and are leading to people being hospitalised.
If you are aged 65 or over, if you’re pregnant, live in a care home, or have certain other health conditions, it’s really important to protect yourself because you are at greater risk of serious illness.”
