Based on the recommendation from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) that one dose is shown to be just as effective as two doses at providing protection from HPV infection, the HPV vaccine programme has changed.
Eligible teenagers will only require one dose of the vaccine, instead of two doses. The same applies to eligible gay and bisexual men, and men who have sex with men (GBMSM) up to the age of 25.
