New Guidance from Estates to Secure External Funding for Primary Care
New communities in North Central London (NCL) mean that housing developers must make contributions to support healthcare and other infrastructure in areas of growth. These Developer contributions – known as Section 106 (S106) or Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) are an important potential source of capital funding for new and improved healthcare premises, but we must bid for them.
The NCL Estates team teamed up with HUDU (London’s Healthy Urban Development Unit) to produce detailed guidance to produce positive results when bidding for S106 or CIL funds. The guidance aims to establish a collaborative and consistent approach for requesting developer contributions for healthcare by setting out principles for bids, outlining good practice and recommending standardised processes.
This guidance will help NCL borough estates teams have a consistent starting point that can be tailored for local requirements.
