The Change NHS Campaign: Shaping the Future of Our Healthcare Together

For over 76 years, the NHS has been a cornerstone of healthcare in England, dedicated to providing support to everyone, no matter their background. But as we look to the future, it’s clear that the NHS faces challenges that need addressing to keep it robust for the generations ahead. The Change NHS campaign is calling for the public’s help to guide this transformation.

A Nationwide Conversation for a Healthier Future

The Change NHS campaign seeks to ignite the biggest-ever discussion on the future of healthcare in England. Everyone’s input is welcome, whether you have a little or a lot to say. Your experiences, insights, and ideas will shape the NHS’s 10 Year Health Plan for England, designed to address both current gaps and future needs.

Whether you’re a patient or healthcare provider, your perspective is invaluable. The campaign is open to all, encouraging both the public and health professionals to contribute. Those participating as individuals can complete the public questionnaire, while representatives from organisations are invited to complete a separate set of questions that allow for collective insights from staff, patients, and stakeholders.

Why Your Feedback Matters

Frontline experiences offer a unique lens through which the NHS can understand its strengths and weaknesses. Patient stories, staff insights, and public ideas are essential in crafting a plan that genuinely reflects the needs of our communities. Alongside this feedback, the NHS will also consider expert recommendations, research, and the contributions of partners to build a comprehensive plan that addresses the complex landscape of modern healthcare.

The engagement process is led by the Department of Health and Social Care, with NHS England playing a pivotal role. Partner organisations such as Thinks Insight & Strategy, Kaleidoscope Health and Care, and the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) are bringing valuable expertise in policy, workforce engagement, and research to ensure that every voice is heard and that the plan is well-rounded.

How to Take Part

Participation is straightforward, with questions tailored to gather a wide range of opinions and experiences. For individual feedback, simply go to the Change NHS portal and select “Start here” to begin sharing your views. Responses are kept confidential and will be anonymised in analysis, except in cases where contributors choose to share their ideas publicly. You can also opt to receive updates about the plan’s progress by providing your email address during registration.

If you represent an organisation, you’ll find a separate questionnaire specifically for collective responses, ensuring that organisational insights shape the NHS’s future vision. Additionally, information on accessibility and alternative response formats is available for those who may need it.

Help Shape the NHS for the Next 76 Years

This engagement is a unique opportunity to be part of an extensive programme that will guide the future of healthcare in England. By sharing your experiences, you help ensure that the NHS remains resilient and relevant, ready to meet the needs of a changing society.
