The Government is developing a 10-Year Plan to modernise our health services to meet the needs of our population. Change NHS is our chance to inform and influence this plan. The plan focuses on three key areas that the Government, health service, and experts agree need to happen. This includes: moving care from hospitals to communities, making better use of technology and focussing on preventing sickness, not just treating it.
NCL ICB has drafted an organisation response to the consultation. Thank you to everyone who contributed ideas to our organisational response. Our response particularly highlights the factors we feel could enable greater progress in moving services into community settings, increasing digital capability, and the move towards earlier intervention and prevention. The success of the 10 Year Plan will depend on addressing financial, infrastructural, and workforce barriers while leveraging collaboration and shared responsibilities across sectors to deliver person-centred, preventative care. We look forward to seeing the government’s response in the spring.
