Integrators identified to help drive forward neighbourhood health services across Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington

North Central London continues to drive forward Neighbourhood Health, with the identification of integrator arrangements in each of the five boroughs. This marks a key milestone in the delivery of integrated, person-centred care. In line with the Government’s ‘three shifts’, integrators will be focused on building shared understanding, aligning local partnerships, and laying the groundwork for more connected, proactive, community-based care that is more responsive to people’s needs. They will also be focused on working with local partners to learn what conditions we need to make Neighbourhood Health a success.

The identified borough integrator arrangements are:

  • Barnet: Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) and Barnet GP Federation
  • Camden: Camden Health Partners GP Federation, Camden Health Evolution GP Federation and UCLH
  • Enfield: Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (North Middlesex University Hospital and community services) and Enfield GP Federation
  • Haringey: Haringey Council, Haringey GP Federation, and Whittington Health
  • Islington: Islington Council, Whittington Health, UCLH, and Islington GP Federation

Integrator arrangements are a key part driving Neighbourhood Health forward, an ambition to bring together the full range of health, care, and community partners, including the voluntary sector to improve outcomes, reduce inequalities, and design services around people and place. They are not replacements for existing borough partnerships. As per the London Target Operating Model for Neighbourhoods, the Integrators will host the functions and infrastructure to enable neighbourhood working at scale and enable delivery, using a data-driven population health approach.

Across all five boroughs, integrators will work alongside existing providers at a Place level, to work with residents, frontline staff, and voluntary and community sector partners to strengthen collaboration, learn from what works, and shape new ways of delivering care closer to home.

Sarah McDonnell-Davies, Chief Transformation Officer, for North Central London and North West London ICBs:

“Identifying our integrator arrangements is a significant milestone in developing Neighbourhood Health services across North Central London. Each borough partnership will work together with the integrators to bring together local strengths, from GP federations and local authorities to community and acute trusts and the voluntary sector, and they will be responsible for creating the conditions for neighbourhoods to thrive.

This step will enable us to build the infrastructure, relationships, and shared accountability needed to turn our collective ambitions into practice, supporting more proactive, coordinated, and equitable care for residents.”

North Central London ICB is merging with North West London ICB to become the largest in the country, serving over 4.5 million residents. The development of the Neighbourhood Health model and of local partnerships will continue to be a major priority and vehicle for sustainable, person-centred health and care.
