A new NHS ‘Mum and Baby’ app that’s been created by NHS clinicians with and for women and their families is now available in North Central London.
The app should be downloaded early in pregnancy and has been designed to improve women and birthing people’s experiences of personalised maternity care. Personalised maternity care is where people have choice and control over the way their care is planned and received, based on what matters to them and their individual needs and preferences.
The Mum and Baby App is a single point of clinically approved information for all stages of pregnancy, birth and up to six weeks after birth.
App users can:
- explore nearby maternity units in north central London and discover information about them, including which services are provided at each unit and recent Care Quality Commission reports
- find out all about pregnancy, labour, birth and caring for a baby, choose birth preferences and plans and read about maternity-related wellbeing and workplace topics
- access links to hospital websites and local community services, such as children’s centres, health visitors and GPs
Initially developed by local maternity and neonatal services in north west London, the Mum and Baby App is now available and free to download for all residents in north central London on both Apple and Android devices.
