On 13 August, we were pleased to hold the first meeting of our Community Advisory Group on Neighbourhood Health for North Central London.
We brought together more than 25 residents and representatives of community groups and voluntary sector organisations, to help evolve our shared vision for health and care services. This will help us shape the work that needs to happen at ‘once for the system level’, instead of at a borough level.
We had some good discussions and constructive challenges, with everyone bringing different experiences and perspectives, a good start to our work together. We are committed to ensuring a robust ‘you said, we did’ process, making sure we listen to what people tell us and report back.
“It’s really important we have these meetings, so the community is involved in the conversation about how neighbourhoods develop. There’s a lot of wisdom and experience here – and people who use services should be able to help structure how they are designed.
Many interesting points made, including how we’ll ensure there’s real diversity in the room, so we get outcomes that will serve our population.”
Mark Agathangelou, resident
Presenters included Clare Henderson, Director of Place – East, Amy Bowen, Director of Proactive Care and Long Term Conditions, Martin Emery, Senior Engagement Manager, all NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board, and Geoffrey Ocen, CEO of The Bridge Renewal Trust.
