We are delighted to announce that Shahana Ramsden, Director of System Workforce at North Central London Integrated Care Board (NCL ICB), has won the prestigious National Award for Mentoring and Coaching Champion at the Asian Professionals National Alliance (APNA) awards evening on 13 September 2024.
With an incredible 35-year career in Health and Care, Shahana has been a trailblazer for diversity and inclusion, holding national roles such as Director of the Positively Diverse programme with NHS Employers. She also served as Head of Diversity and Inclusion for NHS England, where she developed groundbreaking strategies to increase the representation of Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic staff in senior leadership positions.
In her current role as Director of System Workforce, Shahana continues to make a significant impact by focusing on workforce transformation across NCL ICB. However, it’s her selfless dedication to coaching and mentoring that has truly shaped her legacy. Throughout her career, Shahana has supported hundreds of individuals, offering her time freely—often outside of working hours—without expecting anything in return. Her mission is simple: to help people thrive both personally and professionally.
Drawing from her own experiences with discrimination and inequality, Shahana has made it her mission to empower others, particularly those facing similar challenges. Whether offering a brief word of encouragement or providing in-depth coaching, she’s helped people at all stages of their careers to overcome obstacles and succeed.
This award not only recognises Shahana’s outstanding professional contributions but also honours the lasting impact she has had on the lives of countless individuals, instilling in them the belief that they can achieve their goals, no matter the challenges they face.
Congratulations, Shahana, on this well-deserved recognition! We are incredibly proud of your achievements and grateful for the continued inspiration you provide to those around you.
