We are delighted to announce that NCL ICS has been selected as one of the 15 Vanguard sites nationally to run a new support programme called WorkWell which aims to support disabled people and those with health conditions to start, stay and thrive at work.
We, and the other Vanguard sites, will be working in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions and the Department of Health and Social Care to launch WorkWell.
Supporting people back into work will help contribute to our aims to help everyone live healthy lives in thriving communities, and to support local social and economic development.
The service will be available to anyone with a disability or health condition who:
- needs support to remain in work
- needs support managing a condition in order to return to work from sickness absence
- needs support to start work
We will work across all five NCL boroughs in partnership with local authorities, primary care, and our voluntary sector partners to develop a service model that, as well as supporting individuals back into work, also helps employers to create the right environment to support people with long-term conditions and mental health needs to stay well in work.
